Mark Weitzman, an expert on antisemitism and advocate for Holocaust-era justice, addressed a conference in Chisinau, Moldova, commemorating the 120th anniversary of the Kishinev Pogrom. He highlighted the ideological parallels between the Hamas-led massacre of Israeli communities and the historic Kishinev Pogrom, citing ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.’ Weitzman also emphasized the critical importance of confronting distortions of historical events like the Holocaust and recent events in Israel. He discussed the WJRO’s engagement with Moldovan government officials and stressed the importance of pursuing justice and honoring the victims of both the Kishinev Pogrom and the October 7 tragedy in Israel. Weitzman concluded by stating that commemoration without action is not enough, and that the restitution of property from the Holocaust helps prevent the distortion of history and antisemitism.
