The musician Chelsea Wolfe, age 40, creates music that melds folk and country roots with the loud, heavy sound of doom metal. Outside genre confines, she offers raw and up close tracks with sparse songs and cross-genre ballads. Her music revolves around themes of desolation, longing, and fear, as she ventures through considerations of the living world and what comes after.

Wolfe’s seventh album, “She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She,” out Friday, explores cycles of healing. Produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, the album features airy vocals and intriguing electronic sounds. Despite noisy synthesizers in some tracks like “Eyes Like Nightshade,” sparse instrumentation allows Wolfe’s voice to shine. This album showcases Wolfe’s wide-ranging genre interests, with songs reminiscent of alternative R. & B., industrial, ambient, and experimental pop. Throughout the album, Wolfe’s vocal variety opens doors to new territories.
