I cherish the family Thanksgiving gatherings at my grandma’s apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. According to my dad, this holiday is not just American, but also a chance for family to spend time together. Our gatherings are always filled with laughter, singing, and games. I especially enjoy making a turkey with an orange glaze for Shabbat around Thanksgiving time. The word for turkey in Hebrew is “hodu,” which also means giving thanks. I am sharing the recipe for this delicious turkey dish, as well as some other Thanksgiving favorites like Green Beans Almondine, Cinnamon Sweet Potatoes, and Pumpkin Brownies. For recipes, see below. Overall, there is much to be grateful for, even in tough times. I urge you to find gratitude, and life will taste a lot better. Let us be the good we want to see in this world.
