Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited IDF troops stationed in Gaza, making him the first Israeli head of state to travel to the region in 20 years. During his visit, he was shown Hamas tunnels and expressed his determination to continue the Gaza war until Hamas is ousted from the area. Netanyahu’s visit coincides with a four-day pause in the conflict, negotiated in exchange for the release of 50 hostages, which is set to expire on Monday. Despite the truce, the IDF has remained in Gaza to maintain control of the battleground. Netanyahu also promised to make every effort to return all the hostages and eliminate the threat posed by Hamas. He recalled seeing graffiti on a wall that read, “The Jewish people live,” and expressed his desire to extend the phrase to also state, “and the Jewish people are victorious.”
