The Israeli Foreign Ministry doesn’t have enough fund. Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli took it upon himself to advocate for Israel. After former Public Diplomacy Minister Galit Distal-Atbaryan resigned, there was no government decision stating that Chikli would be getting her budget. The Diaspora Affairs Ministry has been sending family members of kidnapped individuals to various countries to engage with political leaders and the Jewish community. Israel’s Foreign Ministry has shut down its hasbara efforts in Persian, Spanish, and Russian. The ministry has run out of funds but has agreed on further funds to continuing its hasbara efforts. Online, a number of reports in the international media indicate that there have been attacks by anti-Israel bots. Chikli disclosed that Israel has formed partnerships with tech companies to counter these threats. Chikli has invested in Israeli advertising agencies to create high-quality pro-Israel content. They have also redirected resources to enhance the resilience of civil society in Jewish communities. The ministry has cooperated with the Government Press Office to operate a media center in the southern city. They have been assisting Jewish communities with the rise of threats by using technological tools and a heat map of antisemitism. Chikli has provided a detailed account to international ministers of close to 10 countries.
