IDF Confirms Abducted Israeli Soldier’s Body Found in Gaza
The body of Israeli soldier Corporal Noa Marciano was found in a structure near the Shifa Hospital in Gaza and returned to Israel, the IDF announced. Her body was identified by military medical and rabbinate personnel before being returned to Israeli territory.
Hamas had previously released a video claiming that Marciano was killed in an Israeli airstrike, but Israeli forces believe she was killed by Hamas. An IDF spokesperson expressed condolences to the Marciano family and assured continued support.
Marciano, 19, was a member of the 414th Battalion in the Border Guard Corps and was kidnapped during the October 7 attack on the IDF base at Kibbutz Nahal Oz. Nearly 240 hostages, including Marciano, are still held by Hamas. Reports suggest that Israel and Hamas are negotiating a potential hostage release deal through Qatar.
The Marciano family has been actively advocating for the return of the abductees, with Noa’s father expressing determination not to be abandoned by the Israeli government again.
The situation remains tense as efforts continue to secure the release of the remaining hostages held by Hamas.
